Louis Fisher previously was a long-time specialist in constitutional studies at the Law Library of the Library of Congress. Dr. Fisher began work with Congressional Research Service in 1970 and served as research director of the House Iran-Contra Committee in 1987, writing major sections of the final report. He is the author of numerous books and has won the Louis Brownlow Book Award (twice), the Dartmouth Medal for an encyclopedia he co-edited, and the Aaron B. Wildavsky Award "For Lifetime Scholarly Achievement in Public Budgeting" from the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management. Dr. Fisher received his doctorate in political science from the New School for Social Research and has taught at numerous universities and law schools.
Fisher currently serves at the Constitution Project as Scholar in Residence. (He serves on the Advisory Committee in his individual capacity, not on behalf of the Constitution Project.)
