Deputy Attorney General nominee James Cole, who GAP has been blogging about for some time, is currently appearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee for his confirmation hearing. Cole may face a fight on several fronts, including his actions as an "independent monitor" to insurance giant AIG over the last five years. Earlier today, GAP sent out a press release, with video postings, detailing questions that should be posed to Cole regarding his work at AIG.

Mother Jones: Interior Rejects Calls to Shut Down BP Atlantis
In a new court filing, the Department of Interior argues against shutting down BP's Atlantis rig - which was the topic of a recent episode of GAP's television show Whistle Where You Work. The DOI responded to a claim filed by coalition partner Food and Water Watch, who is representing a whistleblower that has claimed the Atlantis rig is operating without crucial safety documents.
Wall Street Journal: FDA To Propose Tougher Rules for Outsourcing Drug Manufacturing
The FDA said it would propose stronger regulations on companies that outsource the manufacturing of their drugs; including requiring the companies to conduct on-site audits of the manufacturing facilities.
