SENATE FULL COMMITTEE HEARING ON FEDERAL WHISTLEBLOWER RETALIATION

Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Hearing to Include GAP’s Legal Director Tom Devine

WHY: Three years after passage of the Whistleblower Protection Enhancement Act (WPEA), which strengthened rights for federal whistleblowers, courageous civil servants who report waste, fraud and abuse continue to be the targets of retaliation. The full committee hearing “Blowing the Whistle on Retaliation: Accounts of Current and Former Federal Agency Whistleblowers” will examine the current treatment of federal whistleblowers. GAP Legal Director Tom Devine will discuss unresolved issues from the WPEA, emerging forms of retaliation, and legal loopholes that can be addressed through legislation.

GAP Legal Director Tom Devine’s Full Testimony can be found here.
