Once again, even more emphatically than before, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the fundamental climate of the planet is being radically changed for the worse by humans. The IPCC today released the Summary for Policymakers portion of the first volume of the IPCC’s Fifth Assessment Report (AR5), the Working Group I report on The Physical Science Basis. AR5 will be presented in four volumes when fully completed. In the words of White House science adviser John Holdren, it “represents the most comprehensive and authoritative synthesis of scientific knowledge about global climate change ever generated.”
