Honoring National Whistleblower Day 2025
National Whistleblower Day, commemorated annually on July 30, marks the anniversary of the first U.S. whistleblower law passed by the Continental Congress in 1778, which declared it the duty of every citizen to report misconduct. The day honors the bravery of individuals who expose wrongdoing within organizations, often at great personal and professional risk, and serves as a vital reminder of the need to protect and support whistleblowers across the public and private sectors.

On March 14, an executive order was signed to eliminate the parent agency of VOA, the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM) and relieve 1,300 journalists and workers of their duties.
