Immigration Counsel

As Immigration Counsel Andrea works alongside Senior Counsel & Director of Education, Dana Gold, to manage Government Accountability Project’s immigration portfolio, which includes representation of more than twenty clients and has paved the way for oversight and accountability in the immigration space since 2018.   

Based in San Antonio, Texas, Andrea brings to Government Accountability Project nearly 10 years of work in immigration advocacy.  Most recently, Andrea served as the Director of Family Detention Services at the Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES) in Texas.  In that role Andrea managed a team of over 25 advocates who provided free legal representation to families imprisoned in ICE custody in Karnes City, Texas, and also oversaw the program’s public advocacy and litigation efforts. Andrea has previously served as the Albert M. Sacks Clinical Teaching and Advocacy Fellow at the Harvard Immigration and Refugee Clinical Program, and as an Equal Justice Works fellow.
