Communications Director

Andrew Harman serves as Government Accountability Project’s Communications Director and is responsible for managing the organization’s presence and reputation in the media, online, and with the public.

Andrew has led award-winning strategic media campaigns to combat corruption and white-collar crime emanating from some of the world’s most powerful institutions, and has directed grassroots campaigns to expose waste, fraud, and abuse in both corporate and governmental sectors that left hard-working Americans vulnerable.

During his tenure at Government Accountability Project, Andrew has continued this work, spearheading campaigns to improve access to health care for veterans, promoting common-sense immigration reform, and fighting for free speech rights for all Americans.

Prior to joining Government Accountability Project, Andrew served in the office of Senator Claire McCaskill (D-MO). He has worked with politicians on both sides of the aisle at The ONE Campaign to promote legislation combating extreme poverty and preventable disease, and at the Change to Win Labor Federation, where he worked on strategic communications campaigns in support of workers’ rights.

Andrew has also served as the Executive Articles Editor for the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy, focusing his work on legal and economic issues surrounding student debt. He additionally served as a Student Attorney for the Georgetown Social Enterprise Clinic, assisting with the formation of organizations dedicated to criminal justice reform, as well as interning for the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.

Andrew holds a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center. He also earned a Master of Science degree from the London School of Economics with high honors, and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Missouri with degrees in Journalism and Political Science.
