Don Aplin is a Staff Attorney for Government Accountability Project working on federal employee retaliation cases. Don recently returned to Government Accountability Project, where he began his legal career 35 years earlier. He worked first at Government Accountability Project as a law student at the Antioch School of Law and then for nearly a decade working on employment retaliation, First Amendment, and FOIA cases, as well as working with federal agencies and Congress to seek resolution of the substantive issues that the whistleblowers disclosed, and running the education program.
Prior to rejoining the organization, Don worked as a legal journalist for Bloomberg BNA for 20 years, lastly as Managing Editor for Privacy & Data Security News. Don has also practiced in a small Washington, DC law firm representing plaintiffs in Equal Employment Opportunity cases. This is his 34th year as an adjunct in the Legal Rhetoric Writing and Research Program at the Washington College of Law, American University.
In addition to a J.D. from Antioch in Washington, DC, Don is a graduate of Pomona College (Gov’t) in Claremont, California.
