Of Counsel for Corporate Oversight
Joanne Royce was appointed as an administrative appeals judge to the Administrative Review Board (ARB) of the U.S. Department of Labor in 2010. In January 2018, she became Acting Chief Judge of the ARB prior to the end of her term in July 2018. Previously, she served as Senior Investigative Counsel on both the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee and the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, House Energy and Commerce Committee. Royce also worked for 12 years as a litigator at Government Accountability Project, followed by a two-year stint the organization’s General Counsel. She was thrilled to return to Government Accountability Project in 2019 in an Of Counsel role, where she advises largely on corporate accountability cases. Royce received both her undergraduate degree and her juris doctor from the University of Florida. She received a Masters of Law (LL.M.) from Georgetown University.
