John Whitty is a staff attorney for Government Accountability Project, having received his juris doctor from the University of the District of Columbia, David A. Clarke School of Law in May 2017. His previous experience at Government Accountability Project includes legal intern and clinical law student. His work is primarily casework assisting Government Accountability Project’s legal director with the Office of Special Counsel docket.
Prior to coming to Government Accountability Project, John worked for the Department of Defense for 33 years—29 years as a civilian engineer for the Department of the Navy, specializing in technical security, network design, and network security for a wide variety of DOD and Intelligence Community projects. Before that, he had been an Infantry Officer in the U.S. Marine Corps.
John is the author of a whistleblower information article on the People’s Law Library of Maryland, titled an “Overview of Maryland Whistleblower Laws.”
John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Vanderbilt University, and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University.
