Development & Operations Officer
Katie serves as Government Accountability Project’s Development & Operations Officer with a background in office administration and nonprofit work. In this capacity, she works directly with the Chief of Staff & Chief Operations Officer (COS/COO) to manage all office operations and security measures. These include, but are not limited to, coordinating meetings and events, identifying and liaising with contractors, assisting the COS/COO in securing the organization’s digital and physical infrastructure, and onboarding all staff, fellows, and interns. Katie also spearheads the management of the organization’s Internship & Fellowship Program and oversees the consolidation of all programs and functions into one streamlined Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
Katie also assists with Development and Fundraising. In this role, she coordinates with the Development team to cultivate donors who wish to support the organization’s mission and programs and communicates directly with donors to acknowledge their contributions and address their concerns and priorities. Katie also leads the management of the organization’s donor database and plays a central role in both researching and pursuing opportunities for grant support from foundations, and in creating reports and documentation to maintain and advance foundation support.
Katie holds a BA in International Development from American University, where she is currently pursuing a Graduate Certification in Project Management and Evaluation.
