Mark Cohen is general counsel of HIAS, Inc., a global refugee protection and advocacy organization. Mark served as principal deputy special counsel at the US Office of Special Counsel during the Obama administration. Prior to that, Mark worked at Government Accountability Project for over six years, directing the Food and Drug Safety program, and then serving as the organization’s executive director for three and a half years. A life-long dilletante, Mark is also the producer of an award-winning TV public affairs and arts magazine, The Coffee House, and several documentary films. He is happily married with two (sometimes) adult sons and a not-too-bright but loving pooch.
