Rakhee Vemulapalli recently joined Government Accountability Project as its FOIA and Intake attorney. In this role, she works with the FOIA team to develop strategies for the organization’s FOIA work and will work on FOIA litigation. Additionally, she serves as the initial evaluator of new potential cases through the intake process.
Previously, Rakhee worked as an Attorney Advisor with the Board of Veterans’ Appeals and the Social Security Administration, where she addressed appeals in benefits cases. Prior to that, she served as an associate attorney at a private law firm in Harrisburg, PA, where she focused on immigration cases. She also served as a law clerk for the Erie County Court of Common Pleas.
Rakhee earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania, where she majored in French Studies, and her Juris Doctorate from the George Washington University Law School. She is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
