Aicha Elbasri, the former spokesperson for the United Nations’ Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) and GAP client, resigned in 2013 after blowing the whistle on a “conspiracy of silence,” in which UNAMID and UN officials failed to properly report atrocities committed by the Sudanese government and its associated militias against the people of Darfur.

Ms. Elbasri has written an open letter to the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), imploring her to reopen the investigation into the “conspiracy of silence.”  You can read the open letter, published in the Guardian, HERE.
