Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) has called for the United States to grant NSA surveillance whistleblower Edward Snowden amnesty. Through a local TV outlet, McClintock stated that the amnesty would allow Snowden to return to the US “without the threat of prosecution.” The congressman also said that Snowden “broke [laws] for a very good reason because those laws were being used in direct contravention of our 4th Amendment rights as Americans.”
