C-Span has an archived webcast of the May 14 Washington Whistleblower Week panel on “Scientific Integrity and Individual Conscience.”

After linking to C-Span3, scroll down to the 5/14/2007 entries to “Washington Whistleblower Week Events – Afternoon.”  (Note that C-Span also has archived a webcast of the Washington Whistleblower Week May 14. morning events.)

Speakers during this one-hour program included:

Mark Cohen, Government Accountability Project (GAP) (moderator);
Francesca Grifo, Director, Scientific Integrity Project, Union of Concerned Scientists, talking about issues on which UCS and GAP have collaborated closely; Rick Piltz, Climate Science Watch, GAP (intro 14:28-15:58, talk 15:58-25:00);
a strong talk by Susan Wood, former Director, FDA Office of Women’s Health;
and, in an uncommon appearance, Jeffrey Wigand, tobacco industry whistleblower whose story was the subject of the movie “The Insider.”  Jeffrey Wigand is one of the nation’s most significant whistleblowers, and “The Insider” is one of the all-time-best whistleblower films.
