The importance and power of whistleblowers will be the subject of a panel discussion Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the Kendall Cram Room of Tulane University’s Lavin-Bernick Center. The session, which will focus on local issues, is part of a national tour organized by the Government Accountability Project.

The discussion is free and open to the public.

Panelists will be Steve Beatty, managing editor of The Lens; Susan Hutson, head of the local Independent Police Monitor Office; Scott Porter, a biologist who studied samples from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill; and Sandy Rosenthal, founder of Levees.org.

Adam Babich, director of the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, will be the moderator.
